The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) provides financial assistance to eligible organisations and publishers for the publication and regular management of quality research journals in social sciences. The grant supports publication expenses, editorial work and improvement of journal quality.The annual grant is ordinarily up to ₹5 lakh for one journal and ₹8 lakh for multiple journals. Commercially published journals have separate funding limits. Assistance may be provided annually for up to five years, subject to approval and performance.

Eligibility Criteria
Universities, colleges, research institutes, professional associations/organisations of social scientists and eligible independent researchers publishing ISSN-registered research journals with a peer-review process and editorial board. Journals should preferably have at least 50 subscribers. Registered associations must meet the prescribed registration and financial reporting requirements.

Prescribed Application Form, Organisation Details, Editor's CV, Five Copies of Latest Journal Issue, Audited Accounts, Funding Sources Details, and Publisher Agreement/MoU (if applicable).
Application Procedure
Apply online through the ICSSR portal using the prescribed form and submit the duly forwarded hard copy with required documents to the Publications and Research Survey Division (PRS), ICSSR, New Delhi. Applications may be invited twice a year, tentatively during May–June and December–January.
