NITI Aayog, Government of India, invites applications under its NITI Internship Scheme from eligible undergraduate, postgraduate students and research scholars enrolled in recognized universities/institutions in India or abroad. The internship provides students an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the functioning of the Government of India and work with different Verticals, Divisions and Units of NITI Aayog.

Interns may contribute to activities such as empirical research, data collection and analysis, briefing reports, policy papers and other policy-related assignments. Internship opportunities are available across various areas including Economics, Education, Governance, Health, Women & Child Development, Law-related policy areas where available, Social Justice, Rural Development, Science & Technology, Skill Development, Youth Development, Environment and other sectors.

The internship is unpaid and normally has a duration of six weeks to six months. Applications are accepted online from the 1st to the 10th day of every month. For the October 2026 application cycle, the application window therefore closes on 10 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. Selection is undertaken by the concerned NITI Aayog Vertical/Division/Unit based on eligibility and requirements.
